GREETINGS
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Welcome to the second issue of VentWord, the newsletter for registered
viewers of www.VentWorld.com. We thank the many thousands who have
visited our web site, and especially those of you who have submitted
suggestions, questions, comments and information to help us make
our site more useful and interesting. This newsletter is published
periodically to provide timely news and information of interest
to all members of the mechanical ventilator community, including
clinicians, patients, educators, researchers, manufacturers, distributors,
after-market suppliers and others concerned with the development
and use of mechanical ventilators.
VentWorld.com is the premier manufacturer-neutral website for everything
you need to know about ventilators and mechanical ventilation. It
presents information and graphical displays for the objective comparison
of the major international makes and models of ventilators and accessories.
It also provides community news and a forum for discussions of ventilator
topics, and it lists extensive educational, clinical and research
resources related to mechanical ventilation.
We hope you will enjoy this Newsletter and find it informative
and useful. If so, please distribute it to any of your colleagues
who may find it of interest. We solicit your suggestions and recommendations
(feedback@VentWorld.com)!
Special greetings to those of you who visited with us at the December
AARC meeting in Las Vegas, NV, or the February SCCM meeting in Orlando,
FL. It was great to meet you, to show you our software products,
and to get your feedback. We look forward to seeing you again, and
to meeting more of our viewers soon!

IN THE WORKS AT VENTWORLD
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Eenie, meenie, miney, moe
Have you ever needed to buy a piece of equipment - especially expensive
capital equipment such as a ventilator - and had to rely on "gut
feeling" to choose the vendor and model because you couldn't
sort out all the pro's and con's of the ones available? Well, in
about a month, VentWorld will be able to help you out of this dilemma
by bringing you its purchasing decision tool, VentChoice.
After you have narrowed the number of acceptable candidates to
the final few, VentChoice will let you make your choice from among
them. First, you list all factors you think will bear on your purchase,
or use the default set we provide. Then you weight the importance
of each factor or subfactor, objectively or subjectively. The program
then determines which is the "best" selection relative
to the factors and weights you picked.
VentChoice lets you objectively sift through subjective considerations
to come up with a rational decision you can feel good about. It
also provides a way of documenting and explaining your decisions
to others in your organization. Look for it on VentWorld!
