L Liter - unit of volume.
Laryngoscope A device used to directly visualize the larynx to aid in the insertion of an endotracheal tube through the vocal cords; often has a battery-powered lamp at its tip.
Linear in mathematics: a relationship is which a variable is proportional to another variable or the sum of a set of variables. Example: a straight line that goes through the origin. This relation has the form Y=aX.
Low Priority Alarm A visual signal, or a combination of audible and visual signals indicating that operator awareness is required.
LPS Liter Per Second (L/s) - unit of flow.
Lung The organ of external respiration in which gas from the atmosphere is exchanged with the gaseous byproducts of cellular metabolism.
